The Lamda Phi Epsilon Brotherhood
Every fraternity and sorority that is involved with universities in the United States needs to establish a mission statement that describes their exact goals and ideas. The Lambda Phi Epsilon group has issued a mission statement that identifies the main thrust of the organization’s reason for being. By taking a close look at the statement, it is easy to see how the common goal of the group helps to establish strong fraternity ties between the many members of the fraternity. The major philanthropic actions of the group deal with bone marrow drives and helping patients that have been diagnosed with blood disorders, such as leukemia.
Lambda Phi Epsilon is a fraternity that was created specifically for Asian American students that are attending an American college. The organization regularly works to improve awareness about Asian American issues and also to help communities that have a large percentage of people with roots to Asian countries. The first part of the mission statement deals with leadership and the personal growth of the fraternity’s members. In this personal growth, the men are expected to deliver strong academic results as well as community service and being a leader for future students.
Once a man graduates from college, he still remains a member of Lambda Phi Epsilon and the fraternity ties can last for a lifetime. Many graduates are still active in the organization and help new students with their personal growth. Another part of the mission statement of the fraternity is to represent the Asian American minority in both the community and in the university. In this manner, people from a similar background can work together and make sure their voice is heard. Unlike other fraternity organizations that are on the decline, Lambda Phi Epsilon has grown each year in numbers since the founding of the fraternity in 1981.
